Being stylish is not as hard as you might think it is. Just the other day, I saw a guy walking down the road, noticed the way he rocked an item in a certain way, and then there was this other guy who had mixed two brands I didn’t ever think would look good together; but that’s their call you know. And, personal style is well a way of expressing who you are.
The trick is to do the right thing, as it should be. Street style fashion has tons of gears to help you compile an up-to-the-minute look. But if you want to stay ahead of the curve, here are some hot street style tips for the regular guys who have to otherwise buy carefully in order to build a perfect wardrobe.
1. Put on for your Squad
There’s no questioning here that wearing a licensed jersey is cool. But, there's plenty of athletic-inspired gear out there that look good off the court too. Whether its high-fashion inspirations from fashion designers such as Alexander Wang or Les Plus Dores, or a renowned sportsman’s licensed jersey look you’re love-struck over, simply sport on the trend and walk along.
2. Camo Trend
It’s that one pattern that is here to stay, no matter how sick you are of looking at it. With all the variations available of this classic military staple, it’s makes it all the more easier for all guys to try on a camo look they like best. Contrast a camo with solid pieces to add that necessary pop that qualifies an oufit from 10 to 11.
3. The Backpack swag
Whoever said backpacks are best for school, clearly doesn’t know how to flaunt it. Backpacks are the city-dwellers’ most sough-after bag of choice. Instead of buying a classic style bag, spend your money on a backpack designed with stand out details, made from more luxurious materials, that's as grown up as you are.
4. Pull out that Denim jacket
Denim jackets have been around for over a century now. This versatile staple has more ways to be adorned, than you think. You can wear them over your hoodies, or underneath your raincoat as a layer on rainy days. For the on-fleek layered look - slip a slim denim jacket on underneath a blazer, or heck, wear it as a blazer an oxford shirt and a t-shirt underneath.
5. Wear all black and you’re set
Why do fashion people and rappers love the color black? Well, it’s the easiest color to pick for looking dressed-up and super cool, without even trying too much. It isn’t essential for all the black tones to be alike, but it is necessary for you to wear the right fit and fabric according to the weather you’re in. Wear breathable fabrics such as, cotton or linen in summer, to avoid getting your clothes glued to your body.
6. Let the Flannel Out
Flannel is the versatile shirt of choice for dedicated casuals. What it also does is provide a slimmer and more fitted- cut, in tune with today’s style. You can club it with acid-washed grays and blues or even super light "dad jeans." Don't be afraid to step outside your just a t-shirt or one shirt only zone, it’s alright to go against the odd.
Street style is all about going easy, getting inspired from nature people and surroundings, while also recognizing your personal style; because personal style is well, personal.
